Lamps and styling is where all the magic and happiness in your home happens. So this week I’m bringing you along on another shopping trip to show you what I would and wouldn’t buy when it comes to lamps and styling!

Two Bedroom Makeovers

I love nothing more than transforming rooms with colour and styling. And this past weekend I helped two of my nephews with room makeovers.

Noah needed all new furniture so we had to do the makeover in stages. First we found the duvet. Then we chose the paint colour (below). And then we looked for furniture pieces on Marketplace.

The new duvet is 3-4 weeks out from being delivered so we proceeded to get the room painted.

When Noah’s mom came home after being away for 10 days and saw his bedroom with just the new paint colour and nothing else new, she freaked out at how bleak the grey looked on its own.

Until the gallery wall arrived.

Thats when everything changed and the room—including the paint colour–looked right as rain.

That’s the power of styling. Paint cannot do all the heavy lifting to bring magic into a space.

Stay tuned for the reveal of his bedroom and in the meantime watch this weeks video on styling up your house for Spring you never know which nugget will make a room look so much better!

It would not be very efficient for those who need to get everything for a room at once, but it would be fun to see a video on how to cherry-pick timeless decor pieces at a thrift store or second-hand shop.

This is a great question, my best advice to shopping at thrift stores is to go often that’s how you’ll get the best stuff and be patient if you’re on a budget but just like Marketplace lots of great deals to be found but you should be scrolling there every day I have found fabulous furniture there! And this is where trendy is totally fine. Hard finishes that can’t easily be ripped out should be timeless. Also my styling tips are the same. look for coffee table books they are great pedestals, avoid glass if you are displaying faux flowers, etc. Maria
