One year ago, my nephew Luukas moved to an apartment that was half the size of his last one. When my sister Anita (his Mom) was there helping him move she was so sad at how crammed everything looked when she left to go home.
It took a while but I finally booked a flight and Anita and I flew out last week.
This is what his apartment looked like after I helped him with the last makeover.
And here was the before:
And here is his new place. When I saw the photos I was convinced that one of the blue chairs had to go.
I was also in a hurry to ditch the shelf in front of the window that turned it into a bedroom window because it cut off the view halfway down (below).
I also couldn’t wait for the drapery from his last house to go up on both sides of this window–against the wall–that meant we needed a 10 ft curtain rod.
I want every family member of mine to live in a well decorated space, especially because this is a project that would take me one day, not weeks to accomplish. So here’s the you tube episode, there are some great tips for anyone who lives in a small space or in a rental just like this one:
