Choosing the perfect paint colour is so much easier than you think. And there’s no better time to do it than right now!
I work very hard to try and make choosing colour easier for everyone! Paint colour takes up so much real estate that it really does impact your state of mind. There’s something really wonderful about walking through your house every day and just feeling happy with how perfect your paint colours are.
That is all what I want for you, especially during this Holiday Season!!
When the colour isn’t perfect yet
Here’s a colour story of my own.
Recently I had my laundry room repainted. It went forest green only a few months ago. The reason I chose the deep green is because I happened to have a small area rug in there that actually was taupe (which related to all the existing hard finishes) and green, which technically repeats the deeper greens in my wallpaper in my entry for flow.
So the green wasn’t wrong. But it certainly wasn’t a colour I loved. Plus the room is still unrenovated. So after it was painted, I didn’t love it. And because I didn’t love it, I didn’t even bother to style the mudroom area to coordinate with it.
Fresh inspiration
Then my sister painted her laundry room the coral I chose for Wilma’s Transition Society main living area (below).
And I loved her new laundry room paint colour so much, I decided I had to have something similar.
And what’s the first step in choosing any paint colour?
That’s right, I ordered a new rug that pulls in the colour I want.

Choosing colour the quick and easy way
This weeks youtube episode is about how I choose the main neutral in my home. I started in my kitchen with my existing cabinet colour which miraculously did not need to be changed when we moved in.
I also repeated the green beige of my cabinets with the custom made sectional I had made for my living room (below). See how it’s repeated in the flowers on the paper as well?
