Last weekend, 17 participants convened at Gregory’s Paint & Flooring in John’s Creek, Atlanta. It was perfect being in a space right above a Benjamin Moore Dealer (way easier to do the homework each day) as well as having flooring samples conveniently in the same place to show how to choose the correct undertone to coordinate with tiles and carpet.
Maria & Rebecca
Roy and Rebecca (above) Dumas are the knowledgeable owners who are your local experts in colour & flooring. If you live nearby and want to make sure the undertones in your flooring coordinate with your house, best to have Rebecca help you.
Here’s the whole group trying to squeeze into one picture!
The first day Kristie Barnett, below (who was the first to register for Atlanta) wrote this post about the day.
Everyone wanted to know exactly which colours work the best with Pink Beige so I ended up writing ‘In Praise of Pinky Beige’ right after the course ended. A few of you were surprised by the headline and Kristie mentioned it again in her next post; What Colour are you Afraid of?
Patsy Overton wrote about her experience of my course in this post on her blog. And Stacy at Home Stretch Redesigns sent this email directly afterwards:
“I left straight from Saturday’s class to follow up with a client to check the progress of her living room flooring installation and select wall colours for multiple rooms with fixed, outdated elements. Armed with what I learned in your class, I easily explained the WHY of each colour I specified and the WHY NOT of each colour she had tested on the walls. We discussed undertones, clean vs. muddy, cool vs. warm, dark color in a small space, etc. She gave me a big hug, and off I went to have dinner with my fellas. Happy Ending”.
I am happy to announce that Rebecca & Roy will host us again this Spring, my next course in Atlanta is May 11-13, 2011, email me at [email protected] or call me at 604.318.9725 if you’d like to register or have any questions on whether it’s right for you. Since the highest number of my readers are in the US, this course will sell out again, and if you can’t wait until then, I still have space in Vancouver’s True Colour Expert Training coming up next weekend, February 17-19, 2011, click here for rates and details.

Looks like you're "Coloring A Happy World" with great results! Some of the greatest gifts in life is sharing through teaching others just what they need to know.
I'll click over and read the posts.

I recently found your site (signed up for emails) and love reading your articles – very informative! And you can add Pittsburgh to your list…. though an excuse to go south is intriguing!
Isn't nice to be surrounded by like-mimded people? Can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Confusion …. are the dates correct for Feb 17 – 19, 2010 ??? Is that last years or this years ?
Is there another West coast conference scheduled ? I need to go shake the money tree! I wanna go…

Maria, the new blog header looks beautiful! Very stylish!
Hi Maria. I can't believe one of my photos actually made it into your blog. Wow! The workshop was fantastic!!! I now dream in pinky beige and greeny beige undertones. Thanks so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. I'm sooo proud to have your "True Colour Expert" button on my site. Best regards,
Patsy
You and Kristie are my favourite blogger interior decorators…I found you and she found me! I was watching Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl last Saturday night..and one of the outfits she wore matched pinky beige with the most delightful nudes and pale dusky pinks…I thought of you and knew you would totally approve of her colour coordination….lol!
so wish i was in ATL…i would have brought paint colors to show you. to think about it..i never got back with u on that color i needed help with last year…oh well..all done.
I went to Maria's class in Atlanta last week and can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. I am still absorbing, a week later, with all the ohs and ahs…… Met wonderful people…..It was worth every minute. I didn't want it to be over. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with everyone especially Maria.
Hi
What a fab blog! We are so glad to have found you through Kelley Moore and are following you now too.
We have started an independent brand based on the pillows we make using Dutch wax print batiks – which we love for their bold colors. We have always been drawn to color and recently started posting on our blog about where our fascination for color comes from and why we want to bring it to others – so it is great to find and read your blog!
With warm wishes

Sorry about that!

Maria,
Thanks again for a great workshop last week. I had a great time and appreciate you sharing your wisdom with all of us!

Any chance you would do a one hour talk for your non-designer fans in the area? It would be so fun to see you in person.
Dee from Birmingham, AL
HI Dee, I might the day before, good idea thanks!
