I recently did a Colour Rescue Styling Makeover for my fabulous Dog-walker/Jewelry Designer, Carla Swope!

She takes Lucy out three days a week, and we love that Lucy gets to run through the woods with her friends!
When we went shopping, we started with this fabulous piece of original photography. And her area rug was already perfect.

You’ll never believe how fabulous her dining room looks now. A question I receive a lot is how to coordinate rugs and when we arrived at the home decor store that day, we found a rug for her dining room that couldn’t be more perfect!
By the way, if you’re here because you love a great before and after fabulous room transformation? This is what happens everyday inside my True Colour Insider community. It’s so much fun! Full of wonderful new friends swapping ideas about their decorating projects. Join us here.

And the best part of this makeover is that I hung the art twice. After I installed it on the first day, I decided it was not perfect so when we went back the next day I re-hung it again.
And it was way better.
Pssst! The last two sessions of my FREE Trend Proof Your Dream Home webinar are coming up. Save your seat now 💛

Got a High Wall? Think of Art as Wallpaper
This is one post I thought would have before AND after photos. So easy to do. It would be helpful in the subject to indicate which posts are video. (“A fabulous before and after 2 ways” – video) for those of us not interested in videos who get enticed to open the post only to find frustration at not being able to see the after photos. Thank you
Thanks for your feedback! The format of my Friday posts is always video because that’s where I can walk you through the project and explain all the behind-the-scenes decisions that photos alone just don’t capture. Think of it like HGTV — you don’t get the “after” before you watch the show. 😉
If video isn’t your thing, that’s totally fine, but these posts are designed to be an experience, not just a snapshot. The before-and-after is there — it just happens in real time, which is half the fun.
Fun video. Does Home Sense very question your gathering technique or are they used to your process? 😉
I personally like version 2 better. Calmer for me.
Any chance to get cc on your YouTube videos? I click on the full screen and it takes me to you tube but there is no cc. When I watch on small video, I can use cc.
I love both makeovers for the living room and the dining room. The second redo of the gallery wall is the best I think too. The only little change I would want to make if mine is the color of the sofa pillows. I would not do the dark blues but instead do lighter colors. I love the two side chairs in the living room and also the large beads on the dining room table. This has inspired me to do a “kinda” gallery wall behind my TV which is on a table not centered to the wall. I believe some smaller pictures around the one long narrow I have already would make it look much better. Thank you Maria.
I think you did mention curtains at the beginning of your video so I was waiting to see what you would do. Did you decide not to do them? Just wondering. Great makeover!
Oh yes they are still coming but we need to find them online and order them so they were not a part of this makeover. I should have taken that part out! Thanks for your comment! And what I would do is add the orange/yellow shade it would look amazing with her charcoal sofa! Maria
Fabulous! I love that you shared your do-over. The final version of the gallery wall is perfect.
