An Empty Palette

By 05/18/2010January 27th, 201725 Comments

We have twice as much space in our new place! It’s so great. I finally have a large master bedroom to decorate (along with the rest of the house of course). I have always loved this playful little nightstand, I bought it years ago, its solid birch.

I need two that match for the master so this will probably end up in the guest room painted a fun colour! Since my office has to be set up ASAP, I spent all day organizing my samples, etc. It’s a huge job!

I’m starting fresh in my living room, my current sofa and chair got completely bleached out by the sun that streamed into our last house—and I’m very tired of the tuxedo style, my last two sofa’s were this shape, it’s time for something new!

I can’t wait to show you my new turquoise and yellow office!

P.S. I’ll be in Atlanta on Wednesday and Thursday for a new product launch with Shaw Carpets—it’s a really fast trip so unfortunately I won’t have time for any consultations.

As an artist, there truly is nothing better than that of clean slate, or a fresh palette all set up and a blank canvas. I look forward to seeing all your colors or lack there of. It seems since you work with color all day, that it would only be fitting for you to come home to a palace of white.

Hi Maria, I didn't even realize you had done a new post, but I was wanting to read something new, so I took a chance and clicked on your link.

How exciting! I can't wait to see what you come up with. I bet organizing your samples won't be as much fun as decorating. But still, I'm very interest to see what you do with your new rooms.

That's a beautiful end table! And more space is wonderful isn't it? Enjoy!

Maria…I just realized how similar our perspective is on a new home. (We've rented 22!) I always told Tim that to me a new home is a 'palette' to paint on. But I meant mostly rearranging everything to match the new decor, floorplan and style. I actually talked about that in a post called The Art of Homemaking.

It truly is a place to paint pictures that represent the unique style of YOU.
