I stayed here at the Westin Los Cabos in Mexico a few years ago when I did a Wisdom Vacation Course with Landmark Education. It was one of the best vacations I ever had and every time I am somewhere and just want to be still and try to be present (try being the operative word) I visualize myself here on this beach.
Tomorrow (Friday) afternoon we’ll arrive for one week! Now that I think of it, this WAS the last beach vacation I had. . .. High time for another one! And just in time, in Vancouver winter = rain is here.
I’ll still be posting because I bring my fan deck everywhere I go and I’m so committed and dedicated, haha. Plus I always like to post when I’m inspired, it’s not the same posting a week after I’ve been somewhere!
What is your favourite resort? I’d love to hear what it is, maybe we’ll go there next time!

On Vancouver Island it’s Middle Beach Lodge…the adult-only building. http://middlebeach.com/
The rooms are very basic…huge comfy down quilts, views to the water, no phones, internet, or TV (I know…for some this would NOT be a great getaway…for me it’s the ultimate in relaxation) with a fantastic great room where they serve meade/wine and home-baked cookies every night by the fire.
So far anywhere in Florida is my favorite, but the best vacation we had was in Fort Walton Beach. We were having such a great time that we asked the beach house owner if we coulod stay an extra night and they said yes. I also like Mazatlan in Mexico, but I won’t go to Mexico again because it is too dangerous! We don’t even walk across the border anymore. Have fun and be careful!
After reading your blog, I went and checked out the Landmark Education. I’m a designer and have been reading your blog for color ideas for a while now. It seems to me like you might be searching for greater meaning in your life. I’d love for you to read this verse in the Bible Luke 2:32. I will pray for you!
My favorite resort was found this summer: The St. Regis on the island of Kauai. So beautiful that the pictures looks like fake blue screens from a movie. And the service at that hotel is awesome.
Hope you have a great vacation!
My favorite vacation spot-the Florida Emerald Coast on the Gulf of Mexico, and in particular Alys Beach.
http://alysbeach.com/
It’s a must experience place for people who appreciate visual beauty, unique architecture and the sense of being away without leaving the U.S.
There’s a new international airport nearby, Dining is available at Alys Beach and there are more restauants and shopping at neighboring Seaside and Rosemary Beach.
All three of these communities were designed by Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company, leaders in the New Urbanism movement. They’re walkable, bikeable, human-scaled communities, all beautiful in their own way, but Alys is very special.
I just got home from two glorious weeks in Cabo! Have a wonderful holiday.
So glad you asked! Tomorrow, we leave to celebrate a bevy of good stuff- anniversary, my 50th bday and our new home in CA- at Hotel Cinco Sentidos in Mexico.
A tiny 5 suite resort, each room has it’s own plunge pool and extraordinary view of the bay. It’s luxury and peace at its finest.
Next favs are anywhere on St John and Vieques off the coast of Puerto Rico. I have a thing for secluded beach vacations, I guess. Enjoy!
My favourite vacation spot has to be the RIviera Maya (Barcelo Premium Hotel/Yucatan Peninsula) in Mexico. We go pretty well every year.
Personally I feel Mexcio gets a bad-rap in Press as I find the people warm and friendly, the culture exciting, the scenery one of the most beautiful in the world and the food is delectable.
HAVE A GREAT TIME MARIA! -Brenda-
That looks like an amazing hotel – I will add it to ‘must visit’ list! My favourite destination is Bora Bora – the water is just an amazing colour! I just stumbled across your blog & have just spent the last half an hour enjoying myself reading through some old posts. I look forward to popping back for some more inspiration!

I don’t like hot weather or to hang out in the sun, so I like to go north. My fave place to hang out is in northern Minnesota. Lake Superior is so huge it seems as if you’re looking at the ocean anyway.
So happy that you are going to drink up the sun on the beach, Maria. My favorite vacay is at the beach too. We were fortunate enough this year to visit both coasts and enjoy the Pacific and the Atlantic this year. But I’m ready for some more!
Enjoy!
