Ok today’s post is a recap of the my top 5 vidoes of 2025, watch the ones you missed right here:

I taped two videoes back to back 3 months ago and they are my top performing videos of 2025 and both are going neck to neck in views, last week they were both at 458,000 views. This one is winning at the moment with over 468,000 views.

  1. 5 Trends that are Officially OUT for 2026

This video always brings out strong opinions—especially about what I’m wearing. One commenter said my necklace “left in 1990,” another said they’d just seen it at the Goodwill, and someone else chimed in with “an outfit is not an investment in your home.”

I laughed, because if you’re truly fashion-obsessed, you learn one important thing early on: you keep everything. Trends cycle. What looks dated one year often comes back around. The point of this video isn’t to shame past design choices—it’s to help you recognize when a look has overstayed its moment so you can decide whether to update it, reinterpret it, or move on.

2. Top 5 Home Trends that You Need to Know for 2026

There’s always a lively debate in the comments on trend videos, and it usually starts with something like: “I don’t care about trends. I do what I love. I live in my home, not anyone else’s.” And honestly, I get it. You should love your home. But trends aren’t about telling you what to like. They’re simply a reflection of what’s happening culturally and aesthetically right now.

Understanding them gives you context so you can make better, more informed decisions—and avoid expensive mistakes—whether you choose to lean in, pull back, or ignore them altogether.

3. 10 Timeless finishes that are OUT (but you should still use)

Here’s some good comments that were left on the blog about what timeless is: The way I describe “timeless,” because it is such a misunderstood and misapplied term, is “Never wrong, even when something else more exciting is happening.” Anything that is timeless does not stand out saying “look at me!” Trends want attention, whereas something timeless is happy to be in the backdrop for your other shiny new things. I think of timeless design as something that calmly, quietly exists to be the supporting player.

4. 4 Steps to getting your countertop right

This video sparked an interesting comment from someone who felt the title was misleading, suggesting it should have been called “Steps to Assess Before Ever Choosing Countertops.” And honestly, that’s a fair observation. I wasn’t listing specific countertop materials to buy, because jumping straight to finishes is exactly where most people go wrong.

This video is about the critical groundwork—understanding your fixed elements, undertones, and overall direction—so that when you do choose a countertop, you don’t end up making an expensive mistake you have to live with for the next 20 years.

5. 3 Ways to Work with What you Have!

And the most watched one day makeover video is this one! Melissa had spent a year on maternity leave looking at her blank walls so when she saw my post on our local Facebook page she messaged me and said she was in!

We definitely used everything she had, but we did spend the most on this makeover because she needed a lot of extra furniture to finish the room! We started at 10:00 am and were finished at 5:30 pm. Her entire family were there unwrapping everything and her Mom (who lived next door) loved it so much, she asked me to do the same thing to her living room (that video is coming next week).

She brought me a card and this is what it said:

I want to thank you so much for everything, we feel so grateful to be a part of a one of a kind, once in a lifetime experience. The whole day was transformative and unreal. Everything you did to our living and dining room changing the feeling and dynamic of our home. It is a place we all love to be, the kids asked to host Thanksgiving dinner, have the candles on and we are all excited to show our friends!

If you live in the Fraser Valley or surrounding area and have a room that needs a makeover, you can apply here.

These videos stood out this year because they sparked real conversation. From trends people love to push back on, to comments about fashion, to debates over what a video title should promise, each one reflects the same underlying theme: most people aren’t short on opinions, they’re short on context.

My goal with every video is not to tell you what to buy or what to like, but to give you the framework to make confident, informed decisions–so your home feels timeless and right for you!

As we wrap up the year, I just want to say thank you for watching, commenting, debating and learning alongside with me. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas filled with rest, connection with your loved ones and I’m looking forward to bringing you more clarity, guidance and practical advice in the year ahead.
