‘I’m the last person to claim that I invent this stuff. I look at every magazine and book that I can get my hands on. I feel like I scouted every house in the Hamptons, and we put together the best of what we saw.’

  • Jon Hutman [Production Designer] on Somethings Gotta Give movie set
This is a sneak preview from the set of “It’s Complicated” a new movie starring Meryl Streep coming out on Christmas Day!

I love the authenticity of the above comment because as a designer, this is so true.  We all get inspiration from somewhere, blogs, shelter magazines, travelling, etc. I am a much better decorator since I started reading blogs!

We would all just like to create something as iconic as the Somethings Gotta Give Kitchen which might just be one of the most copied kitchens of all time!
Well what do you think of this one?  Maybe it’ll get sexier after we all see the movie.   See the article by Terri Sapienza here, I found it on Notting Hill!

I am loving those in-set kitchen shelves. It had me thinking – is there anyway I could do this in my kitchen.? I have a narrow kitchen and I'd love to have more visual space while still having practical storage. Thanks for the link too. Michele
