Good things must happen to me in October because not only is October 31 the anniversary of when I started this blog, but we also took possession of our dream home in October 2022.

It’s still a work in progress because my landscaping ate up most of our budget this past year but you’ll see all the rooms (including my garage-eeeek) and where we are at with the decorating!

It’s a real life look inside and I can’t wait for you to take a peek!

Here I am in front of the house with my new columns and gate installed it’s amazing how it finishes the house at the beginning of the driveway.

The details of the pitfalls to avoid and the lengths I had to go through to get it to look like this are all laid out in my new True Colour Insider community. It’s a place where you should be anyway because it’s where myself and my team are hanging out each week along with so many fabulous, supportive peeps. Sign up here.

How to become a colour consultant

Just today, someone on Instagram asked me what steps they should take to become a colour consultant. The fastest way? You can still join me in Dallas next Thursday and Friday (November 7 & 8 – 3 spaces left) however at there’s another place you can go to learn, too…

Join at the Colour Designer membership level inside my community to watch weekly meetings with my team where we choose colours, finishes, decorating on real projects.

You’ll also get access to my $397 Exterior Masterclass and my Business of Colour course ($497 Value). Both of these on-demand courses are a great place to start!

No one else is teaching you how to walk through projects and give the right decorating advice, that’s what you’ll have access to here at the Colour Designer Level.

What an absolutely gorgeous home❤️. The videographer did a fabulous job also. You, as always, have inspired me with your knowledge, enthusiasm, passion, and dedication to sharing color correctly. Thank you from a Southerner, who truly gets your passion of color.

It’s truly amazing how much I love your house even more on video. There is something different about having a walk-through that can’t be captured on a static photo. It was so nice to see the way the house flowed together. Among many things I loved, I really loved that piece of art with the sun patting the dog’s stomach!!! What a happy scene . . . actually your whole house looks happy.

Thank you for the tour. We can see photos but the video puts the flow together. I love that you are taking your time. The view is spectacular and I love the upstairs kitchen…. what a difference with the additional windows, removing the uppers and painting it all out.

PS Where are your wife’s clothes??

    • Kelly K says:

I loved the tour as well but I was also wondering where her wife’s closet is?!? Does she just have a dresser drawer or something? 🙂

Thanks for keeping it real with the unfinished stuff. It’s funny how it makes everything more relatable.

Her closet was there, on the right side of the room. . . she doesn’t need as much space as I do 🙂 Maria

Spectacular, Maria! Your intention and hard work made it real. The upstairs living area is my favorite with that magnificent view. So cozy!

What a treat to tour your beautiful and happy home. Thank you for sharing, found so much inspiration and practical advice.

Thank you so much for the tour, Maria! Your house is beautiful and grand, and you will of course show us your finished spaces, but seeing your unfinished areas was lovely. It just makes you and your home more relatable. I enjoyed this peek at your “not perfect” garage, your unrenovated bathrooms, your laundry room closet, complete with bras drying on a hanger. 😉 It’s a reminder that renovation and decoration take time, a fact that I sometimes forget in my impatience to get my own house finished. Thanks again and happy November!
