We’ve all been there.
You’re standing in your kitchen (or maybe staring at a blueprint), and you’re paralyzed. You have a pile of paint chips, three samples of wood flooring, and a Pinterest board full of ideas that pull you in several different directions.
Are crisp white kitchens played out?
Is the new warm neutral kitchen too trendy?
What about wood cabinets? Warm and lovely? Or dated and dowdy?

You aren’t sleeping because you’re terrified of making a mistake. You’re pouring tens to hundreds of thousands and a year’s worth (at least) of your life into this project. You know that one wrong choice, the quartzite countertop paired with the wrong cabinet colour or floor, can cost thousands of dollars to fix. Or worse, you just live with it, secretly hating your kitchen every time you walk in 💔
Life is too short to live in a home you don’t love.
And honestly? It’s too expensive to guess.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that my mantra is timelessness. I don’t want you to have a trendy home; I want you to have a home that feels like you, flows beautifully, and makes you happy today, tomorrow, and ten years from now.
That’s why I am so excited to announce the new delivery of my Create your Dream Home workshop for homeowners–also pros who need a refresher on neutrals, this is for you too!
Introducing: Create Your Dream Home 2.0
We heard you. You can’t devote two long, information packed days into your busy schedule. You need time to watch and rewatch the lessons, process, ask questions.
As my work evolves, I’m always experimenting with ways to make the content easier to digest, which is why this new six-week format exists now.
So we have overhauled the entire experience to ensure flexibility. You can work it into your schedule. Learn the system at your own pace, and get the support you need!
What’s New?
We’ve reformatted it into bite sized sessions over 6-weeks. The experience includes a private learning community via the Maria Killam app. This means you aren’t just learning in a vacuum; you’re part of a cohort of homeowners asking the same questions and solving the same problems.
But the biggest change? Live Access.
Every week, we’ll be hosting LIVE Office Hours. We’ll deep-dive into that week’s concepts, and I’ll even lead hands-on exercises using your new materials.
Yes, materials! When you enroll, we mail you a Physical Materials Toolkit. This includes my Neutral Colour Wheel, curated paint chips, fabric samples, and exercises. You need to hold these tools in your hands to truly understand how undertones work.
Why Join Now?
You might be thinking, “I’ll just wait until I start my renovation in the Spring.”
Here is the truth: Successful renovations and builds start with a plan before the contractor shows up. You need to know your colours, your finishes, and your flow now so that when decision time comes, you’re calm, cool, and collected. Not caught off guard making expensive decisions out of context of your overall plan (basically blind guessing).
In 6 weeks, here’s how your skills and confidence will evolve:

I recently completed a quick makeover for a charity project, this time tackling a commercial bathroom. It’s a perfect example of how transformative colour and a few strategic styling choices can be. For just $160 beyond paint (mirror found on marketplace for $40, art $50 at my favourite store), we took a neglected, utilitarian space and made it genuinely pleasant.
Now, instead of being greeted by the back of the toilet the moment you walk in, the sightline is softened and the exposed pipes fade into the background. Would a skirt around the sink elevate it even further? Absolutely. But even without that added expense, the room is easily ten times better than where it started.
And yes, technically no one needs bath towels in a commercial bathroom, but they brought in a hit of colour and softness—and for this space, that was exactly the point.
Those of you who’ve been with me a long time might spot the one strategic move I couldn’t use in this makeover—the one that would have made that floor fade away even more. It wasn’t an option this time, but you’ll learn precisely how to do it.
Styling and decorating are where ALL THE JOY lives in your home, and it’s a principle woven through every course I teach.
The confidence and momentum to master your project
- Undertones: You will finally understand why your gray sofa looks purple (and how to fix it).
- The “Boring” Choice: Why the most timeless choices often feel boring in the showroom but look expensive in your home.
- Flow: How to make your house feel like one cohesive story, rather than a collection of mismatched rooms.
- Confidence: You will walk into a tile store or a paint shop and know exactly what to ignore and what to choose.

Lessons vary between 2-3 hours each week, you’ll receive each weeks training on Friday starting January 16 and each Thursday at 11:30 am PST will be a live Q&A with Exercises from 60-90 minutes. Everything will be taped with lifetime access.
Sessions begin Friday, January 16th! Stop guessing. Stop pinning trends that won’t last. Let’s create a home that loves you back.

PS: If you’ve taken this course before, please know this: you’ve already saved yourself thousands of dollars by making decisions you won’t have to undo later. That value is real, and it’s already in your pocket. And because I want you to feel taken care of, you can email our customer service team here for special reviewer pricing if you’d like access to the updated format. There’s no reason to feel you should have waited. The decisions you made with the course protected you from expensive missteps, and that peace of mind is worth far more than the timing of any update.
xoxo, Maria
