If your home only feels finished when it’s full of pumpkins, garlands, or Easter bunnies, you don’t have a seasonal decor problem.
You have a styling problem.
When I walked into HomeSense to tape the shop up for Spring I was struck by this corner with two floor to ceiling walls of bunny rabbits and Easter decor and it struck me more than ever.

The reason why so many people have bins full of seasonal decor is because it fills space. It layers shelves. It creates little moments. It adds colour and personality. And when it’s everywhere, your house suddenly feels cozy and “done.”
How to create vignettes
But then the bins go back into storage and then we’re back to empty shelves, coffee tables that look flat and an entry that feels forgotten.
And it’s because what you should focus on, is permanent vignettes and tablescapes.

This was the house that started my One Day Styling Makeovers on Youtube
A vignette is simply a styled grouping that lives there year-round. A tray with books and an object on your coffee table. A balanced console with art, a lamp, more coffee table books and something sculptural. A shelf that has height, depth, and repetition. These are the things that make a room feel layered and complete long before or after Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas shows up.
When your home is properly styled, seasonal decor becomes an accent — not the story.

In todays HomeSense Shop-Up video, you’ll see exactly how I build those layered moments using off-the-shelf pieces. No renovation. No “holiday explosion.” Just styling that works in every season.
That’s the difference between decorating for a moment and styling a home you love all year.
In today’s video, I’m walking you through the spring decor at HomeSense. I’ll show you the key items to look for to create your vignettes.
