Recently I was asked to donate four hours of my time to be auctioned off at a Holiday dinner for charity. Next Monday afternoon I will be decorating the lucky winner’s home for Christmas (I’ll take photos if I’m allowed).  There are so many wonderful and creative ways to decorate your mantle for the holidays, here are my favourites:

5 quick ways to decorate your mantle for christmas only shows one photo from Better Homes & Gardens. Just want to let you know. Luv your blog and newsletters.

  2. Hi Maria – you’re leaving us with wanting more today.

  3. Carrie says:

    I concur.

  4. Lisa says:

I am subscriber to your newsletter. I found the article ‘Which Hardwood Floor is the most Timeless’, but could not find a corresponding newsletter. I looked under Labels. Should I be searching for the archived newsletters somewhere else?

  5. Donna says:

I’ve already subscribed to the newsletter multiple time and the blog and still the daily blog updates always say the same thing. Subscribe to the newsletter to see the update. That’s really confusing and frustrating.

  6. Carol says:

I’d like to read this article, but I already subscribe and I don’t see a link if one is already a subscriber. Am I missing something? Thank you.

  7. Sara says:

  8. Lisa says:

Hi Maria, I enjoy your site, but always become frustrated when you post your “teases.” I have subscribed twice, but never receive updates. Why don’t you just let everyone enjoy your wonderful advice without having to jump through hoops to do so.

  9. Jody Clark says:

I agree with the previous posts…I have subscribed numerous times, but I don’t seem to have access to anything that isn’t on your site. I don’t get a newsletter

  10. Kay says:

I too have subscribed to the newsletter and am unable to see anything but the one issue when I first subscribed. I don’t understand about the newsletter–what is its purpose? Why not just put everything in your blog? Which I love, by the way, and am disappointed not to see five pictures of great mantel decoration.

  13. Donna Frasca says:

I sure would like to know what that wall color is – very unique, beautiful.

  14. Sarah says:

I believe if you’re a subscriber you’ll be getting the newsletter in your email within the next day or so. Thanks for continuing to educate us, Maria! I always look forward to your newsletters.

    • sarah says:

If you subscribed more than a month ago, maybe previous newsletters got caught in your spam filter.?The emails come from [email protected] and she sends them consistently within the first week of each month.

  15. Bert says:

I agree Donna. I subscribed and I never get the newsletter…..

  16. Lee says:

and here’s one more person who is wishing there was more to this teaser – already subscribe and don’t know how to access….

  17. L M says:

Dec 1, and still nothing in my inbox.
Last month’s arrived on Nov 4.

Love the info, HATE the teases!

  18. Mary says:

Ditto on the confusion about blog vs. newsletter. You are trying to over-market yourself and you don’t need to. I live in Georgia and have already decided the next time I do a project, you will be my consultant. Now – I really wanted to read the about the Christmas mantels!!!

  19. Barbara says:

Having managed web sites before and now my blog, we know that there are always technical glitches from time to time. I’m just not a fan of ‘teasers’. High on promises and low on delivery. I’m sure you’ll get all of this worked out. Your new format is still just that…new!
    Best to you,
    Barbara

  20. Maria Killam says:

    Hi Everyone,
I have a ‘teaser’ every month because not EVERYONE subscribes to my daily updates. I have a much higher number of subscribers to my newsletter which only comes out once a month and a lot of people prefer to get a synopsis. And I add an ‘extra’ article only available to subscribers to give an incentive to subscribe.
Thanks so much for reading my blog and newsletter.
I understand that the big frustration here is that you subscribe and then you don’t get it, sometimes they go into your ‘spam’ filter so check there and there are a very small percentage that do have problems. If you don’t get it in your inbox by tomorrow night, email me personally and I’ll send it to you. [email protected]
THanks so much for reading my blog and newsletter.
    Maria

what’s going on today? Nothing follows. I re-signed for e-mail to the blog and the newsletter and was told I already subscribe, so I know I’m good with that. ????

  22. Cindy says:

as usual no link that works and yes I have been subscribed for months, nothing comes but the daily newsletter with links that always come up page not found.. love your blog but just wish you would blog here so we could read.

  23. Hi Maria,

I had been wondering if I was missing something as I haven’t been getting the once a month newsletter either. I do remember getting it once and it was fabulous. I”m all for the teaser… It’s a great blogging idea. Well..you know I’m a hopeless fan and a good friend..so no fussing from me. :o) LOL!
