WHY I CREATED THIS

Doing it alone sucks

I started my colour business back in 2000, feeling isolated and unsure. While I was clear I needed to do something creative, without formal training, actually stepping into the world of colour and design was intimidating.

I didn’t yet know how to articulate why my colour instincts were right.

And I faced constant doubts––feeling like an imposter in a world full of more qualified designers.

But when I began writing my blog in 2008, it changed everything for me. I realized I wasn’t the only one! There is a whole world of people just like me… like YOU!

  • People who have a passion for colour and decorating and are eager to learn more.

  • Who are overwhelmed by making colour choices and are looking for a better way.

  • Or who want to grow in the business of colour but face doubts that are holding them back from creating the business of their dreams.

This is what's been missing

As it turned out, there were thousands out there just like me who were passionate about creating beautiful homes, whether for themselves or for clients. All I needed to do was connect with them.

While this blog has given me the opportunity to share my passion with you, and your wonderful comments have kept me going over the years, it often feels a bit one-sided.

I wanted to create a more interactive place where we could connect in a more direct and meaningful way over our shared colour challenges. I wanted to be able to discuss the latest trends in home decor together.

Over the past 15 years, my blog has grown from a personal journal to a global community and home for designers, colour enthusiasts, and homeowners who want to feel confident in their colour choices and design decisions.

In this community, you’ll find inspiration, support, and expert advice to help you make confident colour and design choices. You’ll be surrounded by people who understand the joy of finding the right undertone, the excitement of decorating and styling a room, and the satisfaction of creating a space that truly feels like home.

If you’re tired of searching Google for answers––whether you’re a homeowner who aspires to solve decorating challenges and confidently finish your home projects or  an aspiring or seasoned designer excited to build a thriving colour business––this community is for YOU.

Can I move between membership levels?

Of course!  You are welcome to upgrade your membership at any time.  If you want to downgrade your membership, the change will take effect at the next billing cycle.  Note that all membership levels are subject to price increases and previous pricing and benefits will be not be applied.

I already paid for one of the courses inside the community.

That’s great! You’ll continue to have access to your course on the member site (https://mariakillam.com/my-account/). But now you can also access them inside the community (varies by membership level). That means you can connect with others who have taken the course and ask questions or chat about the content inside the community.

We’ve had a lot of requests to be able to access the courses on your phone… well, Mighty Network as an app! So now you can access all the video lessons easily wherever you are with True Colour Insider.

And while the courses are included as part of Maria’s True Colour Insider community, they are only a small part of what is available.  The value in the membership is the community itself where you can exchange ideas, find encouragement and gain confidence.

I am a TCE graduate and access to a private Facebook group was included with my training.

We appreciate your concerns. We want to clarify that the Facebook group was never included in the “cost” of your TCE training. While the group served as a valuable community space, it was hosted on Facebook, a platform over which we had no control.

We understand it provided a valuable space for connection, collaboration, and support among course participants. However, now we’re transitioning to a dedicated membership community to provide an even more enriching experience for all members, including alumni like yourself.

The old facebook page will continue to be available, but we won’t be enrolling any new members. We’re excited to continue supporting you through our new platform, offering enhanced resources, support, and networking opportunities. Maria will be focusing all her engagement inside the new community. 

We encourage you to give our new community a chance for at least a month, where you can experience the enhanced connection, collaboration, and support among fellow course participants firsthand. You might be pleasantly surprised by the value and opportunities it offers!

Can I get a refund?

There are no refunds for time spent in the True Colour Insider community.  You are welcome to cancel your membership at any time.  All cancellations will take effect at the end of the billing cycle.

Is it easy to cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership to True Colour Insider at any time.

All cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.  Cancellations must be completed prior to the billing date in order to not be charged for the subsequent month.  Details on your billing date can be found under Personal Settings > Plans and Purchases.
