By 09/20/2013July 27th, 201816 Comments

My drapery went up today in the master bedroom and family room, can’t wait to show you!

I’m off to Seattle for the weekend for some Fall shopping! I need something to wear when I lead my True Colour Expert Training happening at the VanDusen Gardens next week!

We will stay at our favourite hotel in downtown Seattle and have some lovely dinners, can’t wait!

This is me at the IDS West Show for opening night last night, I’ll post about it next week, my computer is unfortunately acting up at the moment!

What do I need to add to my wardrobe for fall? Quick, please help me compile a list!

Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Suede knee high boots – my daughter who works in fashion swears by them as they are a great transitional item for right now.

A faux leather moto jacket will make everything look fresh and hip. There are so many styles to choose from right now. I found one at Marshalls for just $60 US and the detailing was phenomenal! Actually any item that incorporates faux leather is very on trend….there are lots of choices out there. I just purchased 2 tops with those details and both were very inexpensive. Find a wool pencil skirt in a bright color that you love and combine it with the moto jacket….genius! Have fun!

As Franki already mentioned, plaid is big for fall. I’m seeing it at stores here on eveyrthing from shoes to sunglasses. Also, animal prints, which seem to be popular every fall and winter. Have fun on your shopping trip. You look great in your cute outfit at the IDS West show!

Also, Maria, when using the animal print, it’s not just the normal black/brown/white colors but pink, etc. You always look cute. Just know that pink is a good color on you.

That RL styleguide is awesome. You’d look great in The Primaries. I’m not really seeing you in plaids, but I think you could rock the black “leather” with bright accents. Your outfit in the pic is super cute. i have no idea what your weather is this time of year. We’re still in the 70s & 80’s. Good luck shopping.

I’m with Teresa–plaids don’t seem to be your style. I love me a big faced watch and band. You always look cute. Have fun in Seattle.

    Maria!
I can help you with colourful jewelry anytime. We have an amazing necklace right now that was inspired by Frida Kahlo and is colourful and artistic just like her.

Also, cobalt blue is really hot for Fall – someone mentioned a moto jacket – a moto in cobalt blue would look perfect on you.
And another awesome necklace in blue….

Let me know if you ever want me to come out for a style session with you….I’d love to have a coffee, talk design, colour and style!

My favourite hotel in Seattle is The Maxwell Hotel, because of the beautiful colours in the rooms, along with the Keurig coffee maker with real cream in the fridge. It is also really well located near the Space Needle and has parking included.

    Have fun!

Frye boots. Pick your favorite pair! They are worth their weight in gold…absolutely the BEST.

Better late than never. ☺ BOOTS, but choose the style wisely particularly if they are in leather. Only up to the knee (or above) if you are proportioned to wear them, i.e: Tall or have the leg length. Otherwise opt for something shorter that will flatter your height (or even body weight). If still wishing a taller boot go for suede with a tight fitted leg that will give you the option of dressing up or down. ie: Under or over dress/casual pants, long or short skirts, various lengths of outwear, etc.

As for plaids, regardless they are popular on the runway; again use caution when purchasing as many of the patterns are not kind to all figure types. -Brenda-
