I figured it out. You know these one day makeovers you’ve been watching me do for the past 18 months on my social media?
Well decorating a room with the speed of light has become like a game for me. Kind of like that video game Tetris. I love the challenge of arranging everything in its perfect place and then discovering the missing pieces at a one-stop home decor store, where you can lay everything out and explore for any additional items to complete the room.
And it’s the only thing I want to do. Which is why I’m pretty much doing it for free these days in exchange for video content on you tube or Instagram. If you are local to me (Vancouver and Fraser Valley area) and have a room that needs a makeover you can apply right here.
Decorating is magic
You will not recognize this room after you see the AFTER. And in case you’re thinking my Create your Dream Home course is just for new builds and renovations, it’s not. It also includes all my best tips and tricks for adding colour to a room with my Colour Balancing Method™. Your brain will be swirling with ideas on making your home more beautiful in every way and today is the last day to get the early bird rate of $997. It goes up to $1297 tonight at midnight! In late November my Mom and sister Elizabeth planned a trip to Toronto and I said “Hey I’m coming too” After all my nieces are there and that’s where we were staying!

Time to let the tired sofa go
In the past couple years my Sister-in-in-law had renovated her basement and rented it out so that meant all the art her late husband had collected came upstairs and the house was feeling very full. I will reveal each room one by one, but this week we’re starting with the living room which had an old sofa that had seen better days.
They would have bought a new one ages ago, but they were stuck on what colour because the grey on grey room provided zero inspiration.
Finding some inspiration
I asked my Sister-in-Law if she had any art (since the house was filled with art) that we could use as inspiration and she pulled out this piece she picked up in Dubai many years ago:
Since I didn’t have a lot of time to pull off this makeover I immediately pulled up Marketplace on my phone and found this emerald green sofa that was almost new!
We all loved it so much more after it arrived, the colour even looked way better (probably because it was no longer sitting against the red floors).

When the room was finished after one shopping trip, a few hours later she said “OMG Maria it’s right out of AD”.
You’ll never believe how the room looks now!

PS. In case you’re wondering, I also do modern 🙂

Can’t view video, even though I’m logged in.
I love it! Beautiful.
Great video. It’s always so helpful to have you walk through the process. Can’t wait for next week!
This room turned out so happy!
Can you share information where to purchase the rug from the “How to Create a Colour Palette for Your Living Room; Part 1”?
That is one of my very favorite make over video of yours.
Beautiful!
Thanks,
Lori Rizzo
Everything we bought for the room came from HomeSense it’s the only way I can do these makeovers so quickly! Give me a one stop shop and you’ll have a styled living room at the end of the day 🙂
