Since I’ve had artists on my brain lately, I was struck by this article in the May 2009 issue of House & Home on Bobbie Burgers. Here is her Okanagan Weekend home in the interior of British Columbia:
And of course, I just love flowers and the healthy dose of golden yellow in her paintings!
The rustic table in place of a sleek island (above) certainly add to the cottage feeling of this wonderful home along with the fireplace (below).
I love the way this bedroom (below) has been styled with the toss cushions and colourful boxes to coordinate with the painting!
And here are some more pieces from her website love all the colour and they look so happy!

Ms. Burger’s home would make anyone smile.
Her artwork and the interior design sensibility of her home are perfectly paired.
Thank you for the introduction, Maria.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Wow, what a beautiful post to view 1st thing in the morning .. it has made my cup of tea even more enjoyable. The colors she captures in her work r fasinating. Thanks for sharing Maria! ~ Ada
This morning you have inspired me and yes, you have made me happy. In Northern Virginia most homes are so traditional and colonial. I’ve been praying for inspiration that I can share with my clients.
Thanks so much. Have a blessed weekend.
And here I was, thinking you were posting a recipe for the BBQ 😉
Great colours!! They really give a cheerful feel to the home 🙂
The view from the room in the first picture must be spectacular!! And the huge flower paintings are fantastic!! Big and bright and bold 🙂
You’re welcome for the link to your blogging tips 🙂 It was actually your post that inspired our post about blogging 🙂
Love the art!
Speaking of flowers, I love the new header!
What a great fit – her home really does reflect her work and vice-versa. xv
Thanks Maria! I love your blog so much, unfortunately I sometimes have trouble loading the photographs. Does this happen to anyone else?
Have a nice weekend…sallymandy
Bobbie Burgers’ paintings are fantastic! While I love the bold playfullness of her paintings, I’m also crazy about the size of her pieces. Even though her decor style is predominatly clean and white, these large pieces don’t over-dominate the spaces… there’s a lovely balance between all elements. It’s refreshing actually! I liked the kitchen pic so much that I’ve saved a copy in my “wish” file… maybe one day I can have a kitchen like that!

Agreed! Love her style and her use of bold warm colors! Also like her penchant for Eames chairs, too.
Bold, beautiful, happy feelings.
