Where I’m Styling & Decorating this Weekend

By 06/20/2014January 28th, 201712 Comments

Thanks to all of my generous readers, we raised over $12,000 for Irene’s sister Aimee and her 5 children, read the full story in this post.

Port Alberni Port Alberni

All the furniture arrived a few weeks ago and I’m hopping a ferry to Port Alberni (above) today where I’ll be hanging pictures and styling the house for the rest of the day and Saturday!

I picked all the colours on-line and they turned out amazing (So this means I can keep my day job, ; ) ; ) I’ll post photos next week so stay tuned!

Aimee has no idea how she’s about to feel in her house by end of the day Saturday, I can’t wait!!

In the meantime, here are some of my favourite tablescapes and vignettes for inspiration:

Kitchen

Okay, the lighting in this kitchen is a bit wild for me but it does suit this space. I think this kitchen is styled to perfection!

Books

There was no room in the budget for coffee table books so I’m bringing some magazines I can stack for tablescapes!

Roses

No self-respecting vignette should be without books. Add a tray, candles and some flowers, done.

Pop of Green

Green goes anywhere. Because it’s the colour of nature. Even if your space feels dull and too earthy you can bring in pops of fresh green.

Boxwood

I so loved this vignette when I found it, I spent a blissful Saturday morning finding all the pieces on-line so it could be copied.

By someone. Maybe that someone could be you?

Greens

You know when you get a grocery store bouquet of flowers and they have 2 or 3 dorky ferns in it? Pull them out and put them in a little vase all by themselves. So much better! This is the time of year where it’s easy to clip greens outside to make any vignette come to life!

Rustic vignette

It’s rare that you can make an console look this good without a lamp.

bracket

Look at how much visual space a single wall sconce bracket and urn can take up!

Leaves

Love this arrangement of cylinder vases with leaves.

Who has seen Maleficent with Angelina Jolie! Loved it so much! I don’t often feel compelled to talk about movies on this blog but that was such a great one!

Have a great weekend everyone! xo Maria

You are truly a treasure. Aimee and her
family will have a nurturing home, can’t wait
    to see the final result!

Love every one of the vignettes with green, especially the cylinders with leaves. I’m sitting here looking at my own foyer table and thinking the bowl with green “balls” and other stuff is too dark and I need to brighten it up. Thanks for the inspiration.

Aimee and her brood are very lucky to have your dedication and designing help, and there must be a very special feeling of satisfaction for you to carry out this creative project. Eager for the final “reveal” next week.
