  1. Hi Maria! I love the new site! And I could sure use that gift certificate! I think this contest is especially helpful since during our consult a while back you commented on my serious lack of throw pillows lol!

P.S. I realize you won’t remember me but, I did not paint or reface my cabinets white like we had discussed, but am getting NEW ones installed and a gorgeous quartz countertop. Yippee! I will send you pictures when all is finally done. 😉

  2. I love throw pillows! It is possibly the easiest way to update a room or tie together a color scheme. I am currently redecorating my own guest room ( a rare treat) and I would love to win some of these pillows for my space.

  3. You have exquisite taste! I too love the classic look of the tan and cream and am a big fan of paisley. I am on a tight schedule to refresh my home before company comes.

  4. Love the geometric patterns and variety of colors available with Pillows by Dezign; even better that it’s a Michigan-based business–not enough of those these days. Maria–any opinions on how many toss cushions are enough and when (how many) you’ve crossed the line?

  5. I am just learning how to decorate a house. For 20 years of marriage, all I had were hand-me-downs. I am really learning alot from your blog. Thanks. And by the way, I don’t own any pillows for my couch, so I would love some 🙂

  6. I could definitely use some new pillows! Our couches are empty in our new house! Love your new website! It looks great and is so representative of YOU!

  7. My friend was making a guest room so her children would visit, and I let her have all my toss pillows to complete it! Now I have none! Would love to have
    some of yours!!!

  8. Love throw pillows! They’re perfect for when I change my mind about decor and need just a subtle change. Fingers crossed! 🙂

  9. I love your posts and enjoy learning from them so much. Wow! What fun these pillows are. Lots of inspiration coming from some of these. Pick me! Pick me!

  10. I bookmarked PIllows by Design – what beautiful pillows!

I agree, they really do make a room and they remind me of your post about colour flow and the toss pillow test – remember that? That post always comes shopping with me.

  11. Can never have too many pillows! I love to change up the decor with pillows – they can totally make a room smile.

  12. Please please please pick me! We are doing a complete home remodel and religiously check your website for advice from paint to flooring. Just wrapping up the kitchen/great room and could use some beautiful new pillows to finish the look! Xoxo

  13. I was at a site today and a young woman did this to brighten up a pillow and display a dear friend’s gift. Clever don’t you think?
I love taking the old and making it new again, that’s why I showed my dear husband your photo of the freshly painted white kitchen… our exact cabinets! Maybe sooner rather than later. Thanks for the contest!

  14. Rory Vanlandingham

I love all those black and white pillows on their web site! I am seriously pillow-deprived and really need this win.

Maria, have you not received my emails? I seriously need a consult asap!

  15. A room full of pillows from Pillows by Dezign, that would be heaven for me!! Can you imagine brilliant blues, rosy pinks, firey reds, chocolately browns, sunny yellows, milky whites, creamy beiges, and each and every bright color you can imagine all billowed together in one room. Oh, just want to relax in that slice of heaven made so beautiful by Pillows by Dezign. Their colors and materials are absolutely fabulous!!!!!

  16. Love the bold colour choice for the couch!
Also loving all the really pretty pillows, definitely in love with the imperial trellis trends I’m seeing everywhere!

  17. I think of telling you often that reading your blog gives me a lift in my day. The pillows you choose for your clients are a definite plus in completing a well decorated room. Thanks for sharing. Winning the contest would just be icing on the cake for me.

  19. Love the combo of colors! How fun and happy! I’m helping a friend start her new life by decorating her new space. Would love to win the pillows for her.
Thanks again for another great post.

  20. I’m a bit ambivalent about pillows (I’m the mom who has to pick them all up so…) but my fun comes from watching my 15 yr old when we go by a store w/pillows. She hasn’t met a pillow she hasn’t liked! It’s great to see how she is starting to refine her tastes & preferences. She’s a fan of the paisley but sees possibilities in the second – like I said, she’s never met a pillow she doesn’t like!

  21. Throw pillows are like the frosting/decoration on the cake. Change the frosting/decoration for different occasions and you change the “happy”. Same great cake. Throw pillows are the “happy” to the couch. Who doesn’t like a little “happy” in their life?

  22. Your choice of sofa and paisley pillow combo is divine. Great site. There are so many that I was drooling over.

  23. I followed your phone consult advice to paint kitchen cabinets marcaspone to match trim; revere pewter kitchen walls, edgecomb grey living room and I am so happy with the results…thank you!

  35. Maria,
I love your website, your emails, and newsletters. For the past many months you and your readers/bloggers have become an important part of my day. I’ve lived in my home for twenty years and every day I think of how much I love it; of course the reasons vary…estetics, light quality, security. What you’ve done is shown me why it works so well together and and how to spread the joyful look from room to room. Thank you. You are the best mail of the day.

  39. I just received a lumbar pillow from Pillows by Dezign with fab Osbourne & Little fabric..I LOVE IT! The quality is above and beyond.

  40. Great pillow selection – and super prices!! Am re-decorating my bedroom – found several selections that would be perfect!

  41. Loved the Ikat lime and red pillow and the multi-color spirals are fun! Then there was the raised velvet gold geometric….I could go on-the pillows are all so appealing and not so serious which is how it should be… keep up the good work Maria…

  42. Throw pillows can make or break a room. I have a several that I mix and match for each season. It always makes the room look totally different and gives it a new, fresh punch of color!

  43. Well, shoot-
Here I sit, struggling with three different raspberry and lime fabric samples I picked up 6 months ago – so similar to two pillows shown on their website – one being the paisly pictured in your blog. Meanwhile , my poor sofa sits naked except for a lonely throw. I have been searching for the “right” pillows for over 6 months. We would just love to win those pillows and end this struggle.
Always look forward to your blog Maria, love learning from you.

  44. Hi Maria:

I’d love to have that Tan and Cream one. It’s beautiful and it will fit right in to my living room.

  45. I have a beautiful leather sofa in a pretty shade of claret, which is perfect for our living room/library. The two pillows on the couch are gorgeous, but I read recently that a couch is never finished with only two pillows. I would love to win the gift certificate so that I could complete the look! Thank you for a great blog, Maria.

  46. A yellow sofa is the perfect foil for any of those pillows. The magenta one really pops off the sofa. Nice choice. Now to convince my hubby that we need a yellow sofa, with stunning pillows ~ of course! 🙂

  47. Well its got to be the “greys, yellow & white striped bed pillow” for me – it incorporated my two fav colours and stipes – timeless classics. I enjoyed looking – back to work now!

  48. I love pillows and I particularly like these designs. I’m actually pretty good on pillows in our sofas, but need some pretty accents for side chairs.

  49. Throw pillows are so important when adding color accents to your room ! I love color and also your blog, Maria !

  50. I can’t agree more about the importance of pillows in creating a look. I’m a stager and at my warehouse we have a section called ‘pillow-rama’! We can’t have enough pillows. The same sofa can look completely different depending on the accent pillows. Great tips in the blog on how to decorate with pillows!

  51. Dawn E. Lamprecht

Love your colorful new site, Maria.

  53. I love pillows as well and usually change them seasonally (as well as rotate my accessories) to give my living room a slightly different look without spending a great deal of money.

  54. Maria, I think you’ve done more for interior design than you can possibly know. I never even decorated with pillows, now I wonder how I got along without them. All thanks to you!

  55. Maria – You are so right – toss pillows just seem to put the personality into the room. And just like lipstick, brings life into the space.
    Love your new website!

  56. My living room couch is in dire need of a pillow “facelift” with some that are vibrant just like these. Pillows are a way to add pizazz without a huge committment.

  57. I love pillows…my husband places them all on one sofa and the next morning I place them where they belong…Thank you for the pillow ideas… I have two leather sofas in a very masculine family room and if it weren’t for my pillows I don’t think I would feel as comfortable in my family room. So…I am always looking for ideas to brighten my huge cherry mantle and matching sofas. Thanks you always brighten my mornings!!! Joanna

  58. I love pillows they can change the look of a room. I especially like the striped lumbar pillows they are fabulous! Thanks for the chance to win.

  59. I am a pillow addict!! I would love new pillows for my LR. I just tossed in some ones I already had to fill the space. One is not even covered at the moment. I really like the houndstooth.

  60. Brown, orange, lime, and beige would go perfectly in my family room (I know you say brown is out, but it’s going to be around in my house for a while ;).) I also really like the orange throw pillow. Tons of great choices! I have a serious addiction to throw pillows…

  61. I use pillows to change the look of my rooms and lift my mood. A quick fix! I particularly like the blue and brown throw pillow for my family room sofa.

  62. I love the Wine Color Raised Floral Pattern Lumbar Pillow – it is a wonderful color for decorating into the winter holidays!

  63. I really like the colorful pillows, but I also like the bird print. I look around my house and find birds everywhere! We live in a very popular place for bird watching as well (S. Texas) since we are on the migration route for birds and butterflies going to Mexico.

  64. Love these pillows. Almost too many to decide. But my favorite is the one on your page Maria, the Rasberry & paisley rocks my world!

    bvbabybv at gmail dot com

  68. i like the tan and cream. what a great idea. i knew something like this had to be out there, so glad i now have this resource!!

  69. Definitely pillows are the easiest way to change a room. My plain light sofa is crying out for the red & gold Ikat inspired pair.

  70. I love the turquoise pillow with the yellow paisley design. It would look quite lovely on my new sofa. I have a painting above the sofa, and it is done in an impressionistic style with turquoise, lime green, and yellow. This would be a perfect finishing touch to my design.

  71. I like the geometric pillow in the bed pillow size and I liked them on Facebook (they are from GR, my hometown!)

  72. I liked so many! But I really love everything with yellow/gold. The citrus geometric pillow was really beautiful. I hope I win!!

  73. I love all the information you provide in your blog – so helpful and insightful! I’d love to win the pillows – so many to choose from it’s difficult – the houndstooth is one of my favorites, as well as the black and gold.

  74. Like them on FB and I love the Light Blue and Cream Animal Style throw pillow! I like your new blog look!

  75. How can I choose, they are all fantastic. I love the houndstooth and the tree! Love the tree pillow, in green or in black! Thanks for such a fun give-away. I feel a pillow fight coming on from all these comments.
    May the best pillow win!

  76. Anybody notice the awesome Purple throw pillow is on Max’s couch on the CBS show 2 Broke Girls? I fell in love with it on the first week

  77. I love pillows, even though they slide off of my leather sofas. Any ideas there? I’d love cream colored pillows (to tone down the brown leather), but also to find a way to make them stay put. Thanks for the giveaway!

  78. My cats would love new pillows! 🙂 as would I! I love the turquoise and yellow paisley and the multi-color spiral throw pillows!

  79. I love, love, love the tan and cream coloured pillow! I recently updated my living room and have been trying to find neutral pillows just like this! I have spent hours on Etsy and in local stores to no avail. I love the modern geometric print and tone on tone colour. So many neutral pillows I have scene are gray and that will not go with my décor. They would be perfect with the neutral textured pillows I have recently purchased.

  80. I liked you guys on facebook as well as posted in October’s blog on your website. There are so many beautiful patterns and pillows to choose from, but I really like the rasberry and green paisley. I liked the yellow spirals too

  81. Thanks for the great information love the in between the dots pillow.
I agree pillows can finish off a room .
