Party at the Vancouver Art Gallery

Last night I went to a designer event sponsored by Arborite, The Mohawk Group, Heritage Office Furniture and Best Buy held at the Vancouver Art Gallery. See the covered area on the upper right side of the photo below? That’s where we were and we certainly didn’t need to be covered, it was like being in a greenhouse.

Here’s the view (below) of Robson Square from the party, it was a gorgeous day. Summer has finally arrived and looks like it’s here to stay for a few days.

Here I am with my friend Nancy from Urban Aesthetics. She got the invite so I was her guest.

There were a few women that really stood out. Yvonne Grue from Gordon MacKenzie Architect Inc. was wearing a dress almost the same colour as my sofa that is arriving soon so I asked if I could get her photo.

I also met Beth Thompson with SSDG. Her dress was from Holt Renfrew and her matching shoes were fabulous! My dress I bought from Macy’s last weekend when I was in Seattle. It was a summer bargain at $53!

I am leaving tomorrow morning for San Francisco until Sunday. Unfortunately I won’t have any time to see anyone for consultations as I’m doing a bit of relaxing and shopping prior to a Money and Success course I’m doing with Landmark Education this weekend. I’ll be posting from there so stay tuned and I’m sure I’ll have lots to share about my course as well when I’m back.

so funny, this is the 3rd post (including mine) where interior designers post fashion… and all in two days.
i'm looking forward to seeing your famous yellow sofa.

  7. Hi Maria, I love these photos of you and the ladies from the designer event. It's really fun to get to It's wonderful the way you seem to see color everywhere you go and then show it to us.

I hope you have a great trip. I'm sorry I haven't been in touch lately as much. It's one of our busiest weeks with a two day (eight teenagers) birthday and an anniversary the day before, plus children moving, my mother moving, and going to my Dad's home to pull out old carpet. What a month and especially this last two weeks. :o)

Thanks so much for your comments and visiting my blog. I enjoyed them so much!

  8. Hope you have fun on your trip! And may I say that you looked beautiful in your bargain dress! Love the pattern and the color. It makes me want to take a dip in the pool, especially in this summer heat! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the tips you gave. I was so thankful because I'm new to this and even though design is in my blood, the technological part of blogging is a bit mind-numbing and it was nice to have someone who's successful at it take me under their wing a little. I appreciate any advice given. Thanks and I hope to see you back. I know I'll be a regular here for sure!
