I thought it was so fitting that Michelle Obama chose to wear the colour of optimism, confidence and hope (my favourite as you might know by now 🙂 today at the inauguration! Her dress was designed by Isabel Toledo.
Optimism: the propensity to look at the bright side of any situation and expect the best possible outcome from any series of events. People who feel optimism live their lives expecting positive outcomes and events. Optimism is powerfully motivational; optimism is one of the cornerstones of success.
Here are some optimistic (yellow) interiors to go with her dress:
It will be fun to see what Michelle is wearing. . .
I loved Michelle’s gold outfit too. When she was walking down the street with Obama waving to everyone all I could think of is how cold she must’ve been and I hope there was extra warm lining in her gold coat. I also loved her dress she wore to all the inauguration balls. Beautiful !
I like her style…like she isn’t trying too hard…her mind is on her game!
Great post…but two pics didn’t show on my computer.
Our new First Lady always looks beautiful, fresh and confident. Love her style. I also love those beautiful yellow rooms — especially the Thomas Pheasant dining room. Even though I’m pretty optimistic without it, I want yellow in my decor these days and have been seriously thinking of a new sofa with yellow slipcovers.
Thanks for turning me on to more optimistic yellows and for your beautiful observations and photos!

Citric yellow is back – Thanks Michelle Obama. Let’s hope she doesn’t paint the exterior of the white house yellow.
Last time when I was in my home town the trend there was to paint the exterior of the houses post it yellow.
