High Point Market

By 10/15/2010January 23rd, 201717 Comments

Okay, I’m off. . . Friday morning at the crack of dawn I’ll be at the Vancouver airport and arriving in North Carolina at 4:30 pm. I’ll be there till late Tuesday morning. I can’t wait to meet all my virtual designer and blogger friends!

And I just realized I haven’t even registered for it yet. . . I’m doing it now, and it’s summer there – what exactly am I going to wear?  How do you dress for fall in summer weather?
I’m off to pack my little bags right now. . .

See you in Highpoint!

I live in North Carolina, didn't know you were coming this way.:)

Most wear a fall colored short sleeve shirt this time of year and jeans. No big deal to most people around here. Hope you have a great time!

Welcome to our great state. It will be beautiful this weekend. A lightweight cashmere sweater over a shirt and jeans would be perfect. You will need the sweater at night.

Layers are key because it starts out cool and gets warm in the afternoon. I've been wearing my summer dresses with t shirts and leggings underneath. Have fun ! I may go on Monday, haven't decided yet….

    I'm here too! Happy Market!

It's going to be cool on Friday and Saturday, high in the 70s and lows in the 40s. However, by Sunday it will start warming up with sunny skies and highs in the 80s. Layer, layer, layer.

    Hi Maria,

How fun! You will be near my son and daughter-in-law's home. They live in North Carolina.

It's hot as the dickens out here north of Houston. We wear fall colors–but light fabrics and layer. It's kind of ironic–it's like wearing all your summer clothes, but the stores sell them in brighter and darker colors with just a slightly thicker cloth. Jackets help…and blue jeans.

Have fun! And PS. I'm celebrating my 'blogiversary' Maria! I'm so excited!! I'm giving away two quilted tote bags and letting winners pick blocks from my stash. They are fall colors so hopefully blogging friends will like them. I would so love for you to enter when you get a chance. It ends on Nov.1

We are heading to Galveston on the 30th for the Texas HoeDown Square dance festival. I'm so looking forward to a vacation!!

    Enjoy yours too!

I can help on this one!! I live in Arizona so we rock out the fall styles when it is still 90 degrees. Try nice t-shirts with scarves. Scarves always make it feel like fall. Walking shorts/skirts with slouchy or knee high boots.

Colors are obviously important but I don't think you need any help there. Texture is big in fall clothes too. If you can find knotty light weight materials or wool like looking textures that are light weight- they make anyone feel fallish.

Switching out the handbag helps too- eggplants, golden yellows, indian teal, or even an oyster grey makes any outfit feel a little less "fresh" and a little more "cozy".

Thanks for sharing the link, but unfortunately it seems to be offline… Does anybody have a mirror or another source? Please answer to my message if you do!

I would appreciate if a staff member here at colourmehappyblog.blogspot.com could post it.

    Thanks,

Maria, I have just recently started to follow your blog. I love your ideas and beautiful designs! I often come here to get inspiration!

You are coming to High Point? I am a sophomore studying Interior Design and Architecture at UNCGreensboro, which is only 20 minutes away. I was able to help with the Visual Merchandising (and help sell!) for Asian Studio! They have a permanent showroom in the Suites at Market Square, you should definitely stop by! I am realizing how huge this market is; I mean you are coming from Canada; fantastic! Anyway, I hope you have a great time!!

P.S. I've just launched a new & colourful interior design blog. Hope you'll come by and take a look 🙂

  • Hope to see you there Maria! Bring t-shirts, scarfs and boots. =)
