Here’s how you know you’re really busy. I was 1/2 hour early for an consultation the other day and I thought “OMG, how can I be productive and not feel like this time is wasted”. So, I drove around the corner and there was the bank and Chapters. I needed a birthday present for my best friend Tami.
I found this fabulous lamp! I knew she needed one for her desk and I tried to get her to buy a Tizio lamp (below) when we first decorated her office but it was a little pricy.
I think I need to go back and get one for my office. Do you do that when you shop? One for her, one for me. At Christmas time, that gets expensive!

I’m obsessed with desk lamps! Just bought a similar one, the Antifoni from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20128795/
Yes! That’s why we are friends–similar tastes. ‘One for you, one for me’ is a win-win.
I have a hard time with that when I’m shopping for my daughter. We are close to the same size & have very similar tastes. So when I’m shopping for her, I usually end up with something & vice-a-versa.
I am guilty in this kind of attitude I usually ended up buying two items because the other one if for my best friend.
I try not to do that – with 4 sisters to buy for at Christmas it can get really expensive. But I do a lot of hunting for January bargains!
Great tip Maria…but I’m unclear. Did you buy it at Chapters, or steal it from the bank!?!?!?!? 🙂
Haha, it came from Chapters!
I have done that and more than once! I have friends who have similar tastes and friends who have opposite tastes. Once I bought a scarf to send overseas to my Aunt, but I loved it so much I kept it for me and found her another. lol But most of the times, just buy one or it gets expensive. That’s not to say I haven’t bought two before.
I have no time to shop, let alone shop around! And most websites feature American stuff. Thanks for this post, I went and bought one of these lamps right away! So helpful, more posts like this, please!
