The best way to highlight the bright colours of Christmas are by decorating a white flocked tree. Here are some of my favorite flocked Christmas trees.
Last year I bought a fake green tree so I could decorate in November instead of waiting until the beginning of December for a real one.
The previous three years I had real flocked trees and last year I really missed the white tree because I love how it highlights all my colourful decorations.
So this year I got organized, before I left town to lead my live colour workshops in October, I ordered this flocked tree:
7.5′ Flocked Tree | 9′ Flocked Tree | 12′ Flocked Tree
There are several different sizes and I have found this to be the fullest, most realistic faux flocked tree on the market. It’s a long needle pine that is pre-lit.
I did find a similar look and feel of this long pine needle in a 7.5′ tree here and here.
And here’s the next best one:
Then I dressed to match the room. I’m really loving my orange and green Christmas colour combination this year.

Your 2019 Christmas tree and decor are stunning! So cheery and playful. I’m curious if you decorate in your kitchen and dining area too. I’m picturing a pretty bowl of greenery and oranges.
Yes, I had not finished the living area yet when these photos where taken but I will post my living/dining room as well later! Thanks for your comment! Maria
Love everything in this room, Maria. So festive and pretty! And your matching shoes!!! Just perfection.
Love your house and your Christmas decorations!
May I ask where you found your beautiful necklace… it’s gorgeous!
Hi Ana, I bought this necklace at High Point Market and unfortunately I don’t remember who the vendor was. Thank you! Maria
So beautiful Maria. Even tour clothing matches the theme.
Maria: I love the fresh orange and green! What a fantastic departure from the traditional red and pine green. This color palette reminds me of citrus sherbet, Lol! Did you have the sherbet “Push Pops” growing up in Canada? Fond memories. Well, your room is just as yummy and I love it. Way to go on the flocked tree. I’ve never had one, but now I want one!! Thanks for the great pics!
Beautiful!
I have two personal questions of your home. What type of rod are your curtains hung on? A traverse rod? They just hang so beautifully. And what is the fireplace surround and heart made of and the color?
The curtains are on a traverse rod yes because it required such a long rod! The fireplace surround came with the house, it appears to be some kind of molded plastic. Thanks for your comment! Maria
Beautiful! I’ve been reading here so long, I was able to spy some new decorative items in that room. ha ha ha
Where is that marvelous white squirrel from?
Maria
Lovely room, beautiful tree as always and your photos capture the enthusiasm of this season.
Question: Any plans to develop an iPhone app to use with your perfect color wheel and paint samples?
iPhones have reached the level of assisting our lives as more than a phone as powerful tools to: read, buy, capture, save, call, photograph, etc.
Your undertones color-wheel as an app would be a perfect addition to all the great tools you have already developed to help others.
Cheers!
I know it’s very pretty and professional but as an elder from the era of harvest gold and avocado green-forgotten what the brown color was called but I had a brown stove and at some point a harvest gold fridge. And mid century modern??? don’t ask….
Maybe it’s just me, but it doesn’t feel Christmas-y enough without the reds, greens, golds and silvers. To each their own I guess.
Absolutely Beautiful!! Love everything!
Just beautiful! What a fun look for the holidays. I think the consensus, however, will be the shoes are the scene stealer!
So pretty, as always, Maria! I thoroughly enjoy your aesthetic. The plaid paper really adds pop, too! Happy Holidays!
Your shoes! ???????? Oh yes… that tree is pretty good too! ???? And, can you post about your gorgeous drapes? The horizontal stripe ones. The type/header? Fabric type? Pinch or rings? Just love them. Exactly what I want for my bedroom!
Very pretty Maria and you clothing matches also.
What a beautiful Christmas display. Your colours are truly your own and it is breathtaking! Thanks for the inspiration!
Orange is not my color, but your decorations are fresh and festive! Quite lovely!! Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season!
Just lovely! I’m in love with your pastel flocked “happy” Christmas tree! You are beautiful right along with the tree in your corresponding colors. I could easily take your tree and put it in my living room and enjoy it every day! All of your accessories are well done! Merry Christmas,
and then you dressed to match…. shoes and lipstick – no detail forgotten although i did check out your finger nails! Maria – you are precious.
Haha, I had to do SOMETHING to make it look different since I’ve shown this Christmas colour combo in this room before 🙂 Maria
So artistic Maria and I do love the way you coordinate with your tree (☺) but must admit one of my favourite of all your Christmas decorations is the angel wings you used a few years ago. -Brenda-
Love your ornaments. Can you tell me where you got the green ornaments. I love this color green.
Maria,. You said it your self…your obsessed.
Your Christmas decor is always gorgeous and so forward thinking! Love the focus on citrus-y colors! But I must say – I am SO EXCITED you are coming back to Dallas! I wasn’t able to make the last SCwC but it is on my calendar for 2020! Christmas cheer being sent to you and Terreia!
I prefer traditional red and green. Orange does not feel festive to me in the winter season… it feels more springlike.
