One thing I’m very happy about is that my new house will accommodate all the furniture I have bought for this townhouse over the past two years. This is the last room in my house tour that you’ve seen for the past couple weeks.
Photography by Jennifer Houghton
I bought this bed from Martha Stewart furniture in a natural linen fabric. You can see that compared to my OC-15 Baby Fawn/7029 Agreeable Gray wall colour it’s slightly more pink (and with the lighting because we had to close the drapes to take the photo it looks even more pink here).
Natural linen does have a slight pink undertone. Next time you’re at Restoration Hardware, look at their linen, it’s even pinker.
Before
This dresser was brown and I painted it SW6211 Rainwashed. Sorry I cannot find the before photo!
Love these end tables, I picked them up from HomeSense.
Here’s a better photo of what the actual colour of the linen looks like.
And here’s my sitting area which you’ve already seen but styled a little different.
Have a happy weekend! xo Maria

Love your bedroom. So clean and elegant. The side tables are beautiful- I love just the right amount of mirror.
Gorgeous makeover, I love how warm and fresh everything looks!
Wow Maria, very beautiful!
Bravo! Bravo for the bedroom! Oh and that light aqua furniture…mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Great job with the styling too!!!
This is yet another outstanding room. I’m loving the bedding, night stand and glass lamps, bu adoring the bench at the foot of the bed, especially how the upholstery seems to extend underneath in the middle section. i may have to steal that detail!
You do the most professional furniture painting ( I suppose you should!) Have you any secrets you could share, such as gloss, oil vs. latex.vs. water “alkyd, and application methods, ie. spray vs. brush vs. roller? I thought the turpoise side table in the guest room was perfectly done, but this dresser give it some steep competition.
I’m also happy to see you use a draped circular table as one doesn’t see them used too much these days..They’re such a workhouse and sometimes too many legs are not a good thing, .
I’m glad everything will fit in your new house, now that this one is so perfect!

Teresa, thanks so much for the compliment. I used a foam roller for most of it and obviously brushed everything else. First painted it with oil primer and then 2 coats of pearl oil.
The biggest reason why I have a draped circular table is because the table underneath is an old cafe table from another apartment years ago which is not pretty but works covered up!
Thanks for your comment!
Maria
GORGEOUS! I covet that glass lamp on the dresser.
Where do I find the shams/pillows in the guest room?
beautiful, Maria! I love your little owl, and the china stool. Enjoy your new digs!
Beautiful! I love everything in the room. I’m a fan of nailheads and I like how you’ve used them on the headboard. Are they brushed nickel or antique pewter?
Nice score with the night-tables from Homesense – stunning! I need to go more often as I need a pair of them as well.
You know I’m gonna say how much I love the dose of orange! What a pretty room. It’s so CLEAN (and I don’t mean no clothes on the floor 🙂 The colors are instantly relaxing — the kind of room where it would feel good and look good even if it was a mess from normal living. Love it! Can’t wait to see it translated into the new house.
Love your bedroom, Maria! Everything looks beautiful – love the cozy seating area 🙂
So beautiful! Looks so inviting. I love your night stands too! Everything looks so gorgeous. Great job as usual!!
one thing i would do is fold down the blanket at the end to cover the mattress. it would give a smoother transition to the bed. Beautiful room!! I like the use of the throw pillows for the strong accent color.
So serene and inviting, Maria. Love the pops of orange and the painted dresser. And yet again, INSPIRATION!!! That wildly colorful painting over the sofa in the sitting area – just got inspired yesterday, while trying to group some paintings for my 10′ “art wall” in the dining area, to take my big 30-year-old “Hopi Corn” painting which worked over the couch for 22 years but I’m so over the pinks and burgundy reds, re-mat and re-frame it as originally planned but use it in my current dining area and later in the new one (and forget the art wall). Love the “picture hanging” on the dresser wall too. Finally got around to hanging some pix in my place and it’s great to see something out of the ordinary. Thanks again for sharing with us!.
Looks beautiful, Maria!!
Really, really pretty! I see you have the same ceiling borders that I do… any tips on painting them so they look good? I like to paint myself but because of those borders I chicken out and hire a professional to do my painting!
Very pretty Miss Maria!! I love that bed and the mirrored chests. Good job!
Beautiful yet again. I like to shop at HomeSense and was happy to have scored a nice wall mirror this week.
Is your wall colour BM Natural Linen? We had so much of it left over (my painter way over-estimated how much I’d need downstairs) that I painted my bedroom that colour as well, and I have my linen-upholstered headboard against it. Very similar to yours, and I love it! I just wondered if that was the colour! Lovely bedroom, Maria!
Maria, please tell where did you get this beautifull sofa and chair. Love it.
I see you have carpet, whould you recomend carpet over hardwood?
We rent in this townhouse so the carpet is what it is. Carpet in the right colour is okay in a master but it’s definitely bossy if it’s the wrong colour. The sofa and chair is from Martha Stewart Furniture (and I don’t think she’s making furniture anymore, it closed down here in Vancouver).
Thanks for your comment!
Maria
Maria!! Love it!! Especially the floral fabric on the bed pillows. We need to catch up soon. Miss you!
Xoxo,
Lauren
You did a wonderful job with the MBR. I especially like the colorful, floral painting in the sitting area and the pillow cushions.
Maria, where did you get the mirror. Please respond
The mirror came from a store called Chintz & Co located in downtown Vancouver.
