Inspiration for the Day

Happiness is. . . having the Courage to grab your Dream

By 03/22/2010January 26th, 201728 Comments

I love Madonna’s music because her lyrics are so positive and powerful. And since Kelly Green is one of my favourite colours these days I fell in love with this image of her (below).

‘There’s only so much you can learn in one place
The more that I wait, the more time that I waste
I haven’t got much time to waste
It’s time to make my way
I’m not afraid of what I’ll face
But I’m afraid to stay
I’m going down my road and I can make it alone
I’ll work and I’ll fight till I find a place of my own’

Madonna

I’ve got this song (Jump) in my ipod shuffle, what inspires you to keep running?

I often write down my goals, short and long term. They change all the time, but I find more motivated to get things done if it's in writing!! (bit boring aren't I!)

Like you, I find music incredibly inspiring. Love Madonna too. These days I also can not get enough of Empire State, Alicia Keyes with or without JayZ…both versions keep me going!

    Maria,

Knowing myself well enough to outlast anything and anyone. Push through, be patient, see my goals. More of a ask, believe, receive mentality and disregard nay sayers!

You know… I do far too much coasting, waiting for things to happen to or for me. I've been making some changes though that I hope will direct and motivate me toward success. But I could definitely use a little Madonna!

That song as well as "Give it to me" by Madonna inspire me big time. There really is so much opportunity out there for all of us. We just have to have the guts to go out there and take the risks.

  • Vitania says:

Whenever I am feeling like I need a little pick me up, I listen to Seal 2 – songs like Newborn Friend, Bring it on, and I'm Alive energize me..

Like Annie, I also like to write my goals down – and I carry them with me everywhere. The more I see them, the more I focus on them..:-)

Madonna is indeed an inspiration for every women in the world. For me she is, indeed.
She's intelligent, creative, hard working is on top of her "today's list" for sure and a very smart business woman.
Maria, this post is such a nice start of the week as a reminder "don't give up and spread your wings as much as you can, because you'll get there".

  • Kelly, Arte Styling says:

It's great to find words of inspiration from people you admire. Madonna's certainly paved her own way!!! I'm always on the lookout for good quotes. One of my favorites is from Eleanor Roosevelt:
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face…do the thing you think you cannot do."

I printed this quote in hot pink and posted it above my desk. (It's also on my website.) Whenever I read it I get a dose of courage. She was one strong lady, so I'm happy to take her words of wisdom.

  • Between you, me and the Fencepost says:

Maria, I had not idea that song was so good. I don't really listen to lyrics. You wouldn't believe some of the interpretations I come up with when I'm singing along.

Inspiring words. I just read the following in an e-mail this morning and then I read your post. Do you think the world is trying to tell me something? No more hiding out!

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence.
Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear.
    Perhaps the action you take will be successful;
Perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow.
But any action is better than no action at all.

    Norman Vincent Peale

UGGGHH! Madonna. Sorry… fell out of love with her years ago.
I will say I honestly love this photo of her though.
I live with Chronic Illness' and can no longer work; Severe Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, & Osteoarthritis.
SO, any day I can get-up without too much pain; I get my Dogs across to the green-space for a run.I rescued a neglected Golden Retriever about 4 years ago and he has been a saving grace for me. Lots of affection and the need to go for a walk. I need him to stick around and be healthy a long time. Since I'm not much of a "Material Girl" :}, and am more of a home body, this works for me.

    Cheers, Brenda
    ps…Love your blog!
Took me a bit to catch up on the past years writings…but I am on board now. Wonderful.

  • Susan says:

    Great post Maria,

I'm always looking for inspiration, whether it be a great blogpost (yours) an upbeat catchy song, a pretty view, a beautiful room, a tactile fabric, quotes that have meaning or even seeing a smile on a strangers face as you walk past them just because you smiled at them first.

Learning new things and feeling blessed for what I have is what keeps me running… and large doses of caffiene always help too.
    cheers
    Susan
