I am staying in the home of artist Ian Varney while I’m here in Toronto (just completed facilitating one of my True Colour Expert Workshops this past week and I’m here until Wednesday). Here are some of his recent beautiful pieces:
40″ x 40″ Lake Geometry #1
PinterestJust to keep it fun, I thought I would include some potential interiors where they would look good. This piece on the wall you can’t see in this dining room (above).

This one would look perfect in between these two windows in this space:

Beautiful pictures and I like how you paired them with the interior shots they would fit in. My favorite artist is my grandmother and my daughter. I have some of my grandmother's water colors displayed in my family room. My daughter is following in her foot steps.
i have so many favorite artists. but i'd have to say louise nevelson's work is something i never get bored with. such a pioneer.

Maria– The painting Forest Geometry #7 is really beautiful .Such a talent – I would hope you could watch his brush hit the canvas during your stay.

This art is beautiful..just what I'd buy for my house. I love that first piece. It would look great in my livingroom.
My favorite artist is Andrew Wyeth. His work is surreal, impressionist..and dynamic at the same time. It always tells a story but captures the beauty of the great outdoors at the same time. :o)
And thanks so much for your advice Maria. I'm so glad you like the new look of my livingroom. Can't wait to paint! (I'm getting really tired of saying that. Sigh..) I'll be adding that panel you suggested to the curtains on Monday. :o)

What a wonderful use of color and I love the brush strokes ! A artist I'm recently become acquainted with is Garg Haggquist, local artist from the Cultus lake area. His work is featured in the latest BC Home magazine. http://www.garyhaggquist.com/ I love his 'sunnyside series'. His paintings have a dreamlike quality to them.
Wonderful. Love his work and those spaces too.
I have many favorite artists. One I admire is Whistler and of course Sargent.
Enjoy the weekend.

I've been with my Toronto friend who moved back there last year. I am determined to go visit. Can you believe I've never been to Canada? Crazy, right?!
