Great tips in the “Top 5 Color Mistakes” article. A friend recently asked my help picking out stools for her kitchen peninsula that would work while their house was up for sale, and then in a new house. They had already made some color choices that I was not fond of, and were extremely limited on what stools would work for their colors, budget, and lifestyle. It was a challenge, but we found something that sort of worked. The good news is that their house has sold, and they can move their cute new retro red bar stools to their new house and start their kitchen color decisions off keeping the stools in mind.
so looking forward to seeing you again….
Great tips, Maria! I was wondering about the “no brown” with pink or teal? Make pretend a client had old pink furniture. Why wouldn’t the right brown wall work, especially since most likely some brown (wood) is somewhere or could be brought in? I’m missing something.
I just read your wonderful article on “Top 5 Color Mistakes” and it refers back to an earlier one you wrote called, “Take the Test” regarding accent walls. I have a late 70’s, L shaped room and my dining room is in a warm brown color that extends to the hallways and kitchen and my living room is in a neutral color. I would like to repaint these rooms to reflect the times. Do you have any suggestions and/or “not to do’s” when painting an L shaped room? Also, will you ever be making it down to Minneapolis? Would love to see your classes here!
Good ?, Beth. I have pink clothes with a brown undertone and often wear them with brown accessories. Why doesn’t this work with interiors? I don’t recall the pink/teal thing so maybe it’s in the undertones! : )
GREAT ARTICLE! LOVE, LOVE YOUR BLOG!

Right now it will take a couple years before I can have courses ready on-line. I am planning a webinar or two but they won’t be anywhere close to the hands-on workshop. Thanks for your comment! Maria
