Do you know why all that wrapping paper, ribbon and bows are so festive? It’s the COLOUR! This year, let’s make sure what’s inside is just as joyful! Here’s my list of colourful gift ideas 🎁
First things first, I came across this artist, Brittany Wright, on my feed and her latest post was how heartbroken she was that her work is being stolen and spread all around the world, going viral in so many ways but she doesn’t make any money from that happening and hasn’t had any commercial work IN A YEAR!!
She creates all these incredible groupings of objects, flowers, fruits and vegetables like this:
So she put out a hail Mary on her instagram, all her prints are 30% off right now with the code WKHOLIDAY.
She also sells tea towels, magnets and cards.
If you can’t buy anything from her, you can donate and if a lot of people donate even a little here, any amount adds up!
If you’re here and you didn’t click on the above links then that’s because you need this book to inspire the colour in your house.
My team bought me this book for Christmas because I’m always trying to educate y’all that you have to start with SOMETHING, before you should choose a paint colour.
But if starting with art makes you feel lost, this is the book you need:
Wait, what are you doing here?? You should be buying this book.
If you’re not convinced yet, how about this excerpt from it:
A picture is worth a thousand accessories!!
Okay onto the rest, I understand that this lamp has no colour, but it ADDS atmosphere instantly, so that’s kinda like colour.
It’s well priced and it will MATCH anyone’s decor. Now this is a small lamp. Good for a kitchen, or a powder room vanity.
For bedrooms and living rooms, you’ll need this pair. Because it’s neutral but still shaped like a gourd lamp, it looks designer but will look good anywhere.
NO ONE and I mean NO ONE has enough lamps. This is what most people’s homes look like at night, a runway of overheads:
If you are reading this and you’ve been following me you have more than any of your friends or family so this gift is a no-brainer.
Give the gift of atmosphere this Christmas, your eyes will thank you.
This is a fun and colourful necklace and you can personalize it!
I love these opaque balls, 3 sets of these on any tree and you have a joy filled corner!
Mark Sikes recently came out with his third book Forever Beautiful and truly his books are so beautiful. Filled with the worlds favourite colours (blue) and others too but that’s his signature combo. Such a beautiful gift and no one has enough coffee table books they can immediately be used as a pedestal for accessories and all the inspiration to create those vignettes you’ll need immediately after the holidays on your tables–once your villages have been packed away–is inside.
If you need the drama of some colourful books without the price point, you can buy 3 boxes that look like books. Hide things in there as well, no one will ever know, probably better than a safe 🙂
And some colourful dice for all your holiday games! A great stocking stuffer.
Terreeia and I completed a few puzzles during the pandemic. We loved it and recently started a new one. Here’s a treehouse for the colour lover/decorator in your life!
And a pretty vase is always a good gift idea because every tablescape needs books, candles and vases.
And the best gift of all to the aspiring decorator in your life is a ticket to my Chicago workshop in May!
Or a monthly membership to my Insider colour community. Not only is this community an amazing place to meet other people who love colour and timeless design but you’ll get support for everything you’re working on. This level includes over 70 hours of design meetings where I walk through projects with my team, you’ll learn how and why we choose paint colours, flooring, countertops, exteriors, where else can you actually learn how to become a better decorator? And my exterior masterclass and Business of Colour course is inside as well.

Hi Maria! Thanks for the awesome post! The link for the puzzle seems to be corrupted. Would you mind letting us know what it is? Thanks!!
Also the link to the bracelet takes us to the books.
Maria, y’all is not proper English and not said by Canadians. Those in the southern states say that and it is part of their charm. Please stop!
I really like the puzzle and order one every year but this year I forgot. Thanks for the reminder.
