Attention all Home Decor Lovers! West Elm has arrived in Vancouver to South Granville!

It’s very difficult to find basic, stylish furniture, and home decor items in Vancouver.

So many times, I will arrive at a consultation where my stylish client walks me through their entire house and basically everything is from a certain big box home decor store in this town.

Anyway, I’m very happy they are finally in here! Last night was their big media event and who do I bump into the minute I walked in? Jill Kivett the Home & Design Show Manager (where I’m speaking October 12, 13 & 14) and Amanda Haines from Reformation PR.

Gold Flatware Set

One of my clients Rebecca Marshall was with me and she immediately snapped up 18 sets of this fabulous gold plated flatware.

I thought this shower curtain might look good in my turquoise bathroom.

Loved this lamp, perfect for a highboy dresser or someplace where a shorter lamp is required.

West elm

I might need these pillows for my living room.

A collection of these on your bathroom counter, mantle or dining room would be so easy to fill with greens and single flowers.

And here’s my picture taken in front of the glittery background by photostar.com.

Which one is your favourite?

The bathroom is my favorite. Blue and white is hard for me to resist.

  2. Sharon says:

Love the lamp, love the pillows, love the jars, love the cutlery (I have gold plated ones too) … yup this is a place for a must do visit! I also am in love with a blue and white bathroom – so cottage feeling and inviting. Thanks for sharing it – just a short hour drive away too!

  3. How did I miss you there? I was there last night as well. Nice to have another place to go for decor!

  4. Meghann Wandrocke says:

The collection of bottles are my favorite.

  5. rosemary says:

    I love the glass vases

  6. Dianne Tant says:

I love West Elm..I am lucky to have one here in Nashville (and other good stores too). LOVE your blue statement necklace!

  7. I can only imagine how hard out is to do your job without great resources locally. We don’t have West Elm here. Wish we did. Have a great weekend!

  8. Love West Elm – don’t get to it too often as it’s in Toronto’s west end which is not a place I visit very often. Last time I was there I picked up one of those glass bottles – it’s in my little bathroom too!

  9. I love everything! I don’t think we have West Elm here in the Boston area? I’ll have to look around for it.

  10. Shawna says:

The lamp is my favourite; I love the shape and colour.

Yes yes, please do get something navy into your turquoise bathroom. Navy and turquoise are so lovely together. I have a passion for dark navy blue bath towels instead of the classic white. I never do a spa white bathroom anyhow. I have paired navy towels with BM Dill Pickle walls and currently have them adding a bit of drama to my dull little cream/peach/yellow rental bathroom.

  11. Nancy says:

Love the throw pillows. We need a West Elm in Calgary!

  12. We have a west elm in Denver, and I’ve bought those awesome recycled glass vases many times for various clients! They’re so great! I’m so glad to hear Vancouver has a west elm for you now. 🙂 -Jill

  13. Brenda says:

My favourite is the photo of you, Maria! Simply because enjoy your blog so much! You “keep it real”.

  14. I love the green glass jars. They are delicious!

  15. Rebecca says:

Love West Elm! Buy a lot from them for my home staging business in Portland. Can’t beat their style and price points.

  16. Paula Van Hoogen says:

Me too—it’s YOU!!! Love seeing you again.
Our West elm is 125 miles away, but I did go there with a trailer and bring home my 2 apartment sized taupey/gray couches, which, by the way got moved into the white LR. Love it! Pictures soon. Take care Maria…..

  17. BillP says:

West Elm has a great website in the US. Sometimes the online prices are less than in the stores and sometimes there is free shipping. Michele, they have a store in Woburn and one in Boston. I’ve gotten a lot of things there. Interesting to note that they have less furniture now and more accessories and they merchandise it like a clothing store does- each season there is a new color palette.

  18. loving the Navy – just can’t resist that color!
