Work with us!
We are looking for a Junior Colour Designer with the talent and drive. This is a unique and essential role where you will start by managing our busy customer interface and project flow, with the opportunity to begin assembling Maria’s expert advice into beautiful, actionable client presentations.
Please email your resume and a cover letter to [email protected] detailing your experience with the Killam Colour System™.
GROWTH MINDSET: A "no-task-is-too-small" attitude and the confidence to learn from constructive criticism.
THE KILLAM CONNECTION: You must be exceptionally familiar with the Killam Colour System™ and ready to apply it daily.
METICULOUS ORGANIZATION: You are an "everything has a place" person. You find sorting, colour-coding, and tracking details satisfying.
A DISCERNING EYE : You have professional (or comparable) interior decorating or design experience (5 years preferred) and a passion for colour and the timeless aesthetic.
COMMUNICATION MASTERY: Impeccable written and verbal skills. You can put complex ideas into simple words and provide the guidance clients need to move forward with conviction.
Design Application: Identify neutral undertones in "fixed elements" using the Killam Colour System™ and recommend finishes and colours that align with Maria’s timeless aesthetic.
Quality Control & Proofreading: Review outgoing client presentations for impeccable grammar, tone, and functioning links.
Presentation Development: Compile high-quality presentations that illustrate Maria’s specifications, including expert copy that explains the "why" behind every choice.
Project Intake & Synthesis: Organize client photos, questionnaires, and inspiration boards (Pinterest/Houzz). Interpret the client’s desired outcome and communicate it clearly to Maria and the design team.
Exceptional Customer Service & Sales: Manage the busy eDesign inbox, turning initial inquiries into sales through professional, persuasive, and clear communication.
Meticulous Project Management: Track the status of all active files in spreadsheets, ensuring the project schedule runs smoothly and all deadlines are met.
LOCATION: Fully Remote (Must be located in North America—US or Canada).
COMMITMENT: Starting as Part-Time (min. 25 hours/week) with the potential to move to Full-Time.
SCHEDULE: Availability to collaborate with the team during regular business hours.
COMPENSATION: Hourly contract position starting at $25/hour.
Working at Maria Killam Inc. is demanding, fast-paced, and rewarding. If you are ready to put in the effort and master a world-class design system, there is significant room for you to grow with us.
